The Ace In the Hole short form Single Elimination tournament.
-
Time of tournament: November 2 2024, Qualifying round Starts at 12:30 p.m. Eastern. Elimination rounds begin at 4 PM that day until all jackpots are confirmed. If natural closing time occurs, subsequent Sundays and Saturdays will be used until all jackpots are determined.
-
Price : Tournament entry fee $8 (early bird) $10 (after early bird deadline) and a regular ticket admission on the day of event.. You must reserve a spot by October 31 , 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern for the Early Bird Price.
-
On game day, you purchase a regular price golf ticket (Extra practice rounds may be purchased at regular price.). These games must be witnessed by one referee or official of the tournament. These games are played where one person starts on the tee off and putts all the way until the end before the next person starts.
-
In addition to the green fees, tournament fees, and the one ticket per person, if you wish to wager more you can enter the professional rank by paying an Extra $10 per person per level. You pick your own stakes level you feel comfortable at. You are only eligible to win money for the levels you compete in. Do not wager any money away that is vital for food, shelter and other obligations of yourself or those you choose to or must take care of. It's okay if you pay the "green fees" and just try for the ameteur jackpot. Otherwise the limit is determined by how high two or more people will go in making levels.
-
The top 50% of the scores entered go to the elimination rounds. If the number of contestants is odd, a Bubble Boy match will take place, where the opponent of the Bubble Boy has a 2 to 1 hole edge.
-
All elimination games are first win 3 holes advance. Tie holes count as a half hole for each person. If both people are at 2 ½ wins apiece, then the final hole shall be played as a Big Kevorkian, which is our name for a tiebreaker game that guarantee a winner that are not holes of standard miniature golf.
-
Amateur jackpot starts at $20, and increases by $2 for every participant. Every time a contestant plays an elimination round in less than six holes, money gets deposited in both the jackpot and their personal account. 50 cents for both if decided on five holes, a dollar to both if decided in four holes. and $2 to both of swept in 3 holes
-
Ameteur and Professional Jackpot levels are paid 50% to first, 30% to second 10% for third, and tournament organizer gets 10% assuming 6 or more people on a level. (55% for 1st/ 35% for second, 0 for third if 4-5 people are on a level, and winner takes 90%, 0% for lower if 3 or 2 players are at a level. If you are the only one at a level, the uncontested levels are fully refunded.) The farther round reached in the tournament determines high roller jackpots that go undetermined by the semifinals. If eliminated in the same round, a tiebreaker (or a single elimination tiebreaker side tournament if more than 2 are tied) will determine undetermined "side pots" $1 a player-hole will be subtracted from the lowest available side jackpot to pay for tiebreaker green fees. Lower ranking side pots will be determined before higher ones.
-
It's a “one ring circus” where all tournament competition footage will be videographed. You may leave the premises and come back for your game. All tee off times will be determined at the beginning of each round for that round and further rounds are determined by the choice of the better performer in their most recent respective game.
-
Watching is allowed on premises, however those who are merely watching and not either playing, (tournament, practice round, or normal ticket) or consuming snacks purchased on premises will be the first to be asked to leave. Premises owners may change the policy by either limiting/ not allowing non-playing guests or charging admission to watch live. Because the tournament does not have to be finished by a certain time, the tournament people will be voluntarily temporarily leaving in case of overflow before any paying customers there independent of the tournament, are asked to leave.
-
Submit payment early if you plan to join and want an edge, because first round byes and certain choices in the match will be determined by higher seed, and a higher seed will be determined by the time at which all of the following have been submitted:
A. the payment.
B. 7 separate 4-choice multiple choice questions with one correct answer each that one could possibly answer if one has the knowledge and is not provided any of the four choices.
C A rank list of your preferred TIEBREAKERS. tiebreakers for that.
-
You should assume each matchup takes 10-20 minutes when filming for Twitch. You should be on premesis 10 minutes before the match before yours starts. Follow x.com/tripletopper to get updated scores and an estimate of your game time.
-
You must be 18 years or older to participate in the pro jackpots. Under 18 may participate in the Ameteur level only, and only with parental/guardian permission.
-
Behavior: Do keep in mind that it is not a private building reservation, meaning other games played recreationally will be going on simultaneously. This content is being developed and shot in 3D as dummy content to be used by WEWS to test 3D broadcast abilities of VHF and UHF stations to be able to broadcast the show in 3D while simultaneously being in 2D for those who don't partake. This is not a guarantee, or even a statement of high likelihood, that it'll be shown later on WEWS or any other TV station. The first season will probably NOT be broadcast on TV other than my Twitch page as it airs and on my Youtube channel as a deposit of shot footage. It is mainly a demonstration of a 3d golf tournament on TV, and gives WEWS some 3d footage to test the hybrid 3D/2D broadcast. These last 2 paragraphs are just an advisory just to keep your language and other behavior to broadcast TV acceptable levels for general family hour prime time viewing. If a player while playing violates TV appropiateness rules, stroke penalties will be assessed. The tournament will be streamed live on Twitch.tv/tripletopper in Google Cardboard 3d format. To watch in 2D, zoom in on either one of the two eyes of the stereoscope to get a 2d version of the game. There may be one or more alternate stereoscopic recorded perspectives that are used as secondary footage for editing.
-
For tiebreaker games that rely on a par to determine number of shots or questions, the par will be determined on that individual hole by the staff of Alien Vacation Mini Golf. Likewise failure to cup in on a triple bogey is a give up automatic quadruple bogey. Since, after the qualifying round, this is match play, any putts that are considered superfluous for determining hole winner will not be played.
-
Any time from the time you address the ball to the completion of a putt. You must wear provided Chromadepth goggles. You may take them off when walking and analyzing a hole or shot.
-
All shots must be made “in the spirit of the course design.” unless otherwise designated, any violations results in a mulligan plus penalty stroke. If there are any questions as to whether a tactic is in the spirit of the hole design, the staff will make a determination when a challenge is used. Otherwise the initial determination of whether the shot tactic is in spirit or not will stand and apply to all people. These include:
-
bypassing a Ball Muncher.
-
intentionally jumping a ball in order to avoid a brick or other obstacle.
-
making unauthorized shortcuts that are not intended by course design.
-
Do not distract your opponent while they are putting, any offense is a stroke penalty plus if a stroke was engaged during the distraction, the distracted player may choose to either accept the initial shot or reshoot from the original spot without penalty.
-
During elimination rounds, after both people’s first shots, furthest from the hole along the most logical path goes first. If either a measurement is equal to the nearest millimeter, or 2 unclear paths have no obviously shorter shot, a trivia question will be read and the person who answers correctly can choose who goes next.
-
Challenging referee calls. Throughout the tournament each player will get a minimum of two challenge flags, or one challenge flag for every two rounds played.(with halves rounded up) A player may challenge any play on video replay. If video evidence confirms a play, the flag is consumed and a flag cannot be played for the rest of that particular round vs one opponent. If your last flag is consumed you cannot challenge any more plays throughout the tournament. If Video evidence is inconclusive, it stands as called but is not considered a consumed flag. If video evidence confirms facts not called on the initial call, the call will get changed. In either the last two cases since a flag has not been consumed they may throw further flag later in the round, and as long as the ref's calls is either not confirmed or confirmed as wrong, may throw the flag as many times as they want but each time they throw the flag they are at risk of losing that flag if a refs call is confirmed.
-
Equipment-:All people must use provided balls. You may bring your own golf club, but a limit of one club is to be used by the player. If you prefer your own monodextrous putter, you cannot change to a house ambidextrous putter. All spots made away from obstacles and walls is one club head length, or apporiximately 10 cm (4 inches) in length, always spotted perpendicular to the tangent of the obstacle. If multiple obstacles exist, multiple spots can be made.
-
Collision- If 2 balls collide, in normal play, the person who was hit may either choose the old spot or the new, except if it is cupped in, in which case the old spot is used.
-
Occupied spot placement - If the old spot is occupied by the other ball, the ball occupying the spot will go first then the moved ball will be placed on the spot.
-
Eclipses are legal obstacles. Hitting through an eclipse is a legal strategy if you wish to give an opponent a choice of spots.
